Sign in using backup codes
If you lose your device containing the Authenticator app, you can use backup codes to sign in. After you use a backup code to sign in, it becomes inactive. You can generate a new set of 10 codes whenever you want. After creating a new set, the old set automatically becomes inactive.
Once you enable Multi-Factor Authentication on your account, a set of 10 backup codes will be automatically generated.
How to generate new sets of backup codes.
- Click Profile in the left navigation of your screen.
- Select Authentication.
- Under Time-based OTP, click Backup Codes.
- A pop box will appear showing you the existing set of backup codes and the usage.
- Click Get New Codes to generate a new set of backup codes.
- Click Download to download the text file containing the codes.
How to login using backup codes.
- Enter your login credentials at the sign in page.
- You will be prompted to enter the OTP generated by the Authenticator app. If you do not have app, click Switch to Backup code.
- Enter the backup code which hasn't been used to access your account.
